Abstract: In this popular session, appropriate for both online and face-to-face instructors, we will reveal how a classroom document camera is actually eight tools in one: a swiss army knife of learning, and a digital shapeshifter. We will involve participants in a variety of ways. Learn to use this tool to provide more engaging, student-involved, and discovery-centered learning. If you don’t have a document camera yet, this session will help you understand why you need one.

 

Bio: Len Scrogan is a digital educator with more than 28 years experience in graduate level teaching with technology. He has taught for CU-Denver Master's program for 10 years. Scrogan is a Digital Learning Architect with a proven track record of transforming teaching and learning in a broad variety of educational and corporate settings. He was named outstanding technology administrator for CASE, 2009 and is an author, software designer, and process inventor.

 

Description: For those of you who missed this popular session last year or just want to see it again, come and learn 8 powerful ways to use your classroom document camera, along with related, creative teaching ideas. The document camera can become nothing less than a Swiss Army Knife for learning. We will involve participants in using this tool to demonstrate and provide more engaging, student-involved, and discovery-centered learning. We will look at visual teaching, differentiated learning, and as a different way to provide formative assessment with the classroom document camera. You will also learn how to richly involve your students and use the document camera as an effective tool for online instruction And, by gosh, if you don’t have a document camera yet, this session will help you understand why you need one.
