Description: This presentation will demonstrate the use of a cross-platform, movie and audio editing program titled Camtasia, for purposes of creating fully composited and edited movies for course lecture presentation or for training demonstration. This low cost, entry level screen capture and editing program allows one to easily integrate audio, video, text, imagery, graphics animations, flash media, and live video into a digital file for delivery on smart phones, tablets or over the Internet. Movie editing techniques will be discussed. Participants will come to understand the workflow of taking course content and seeing how it may be presented in an effective visual format in ways that can best illuminate the subject matter being discussed. The presenter assumes that participants will have a basic grasp of digital graphics, images, audio and video, though the novice will be able to come away from the presentation with an understanding of how to put tighter a simple, fully edited movie. Subjects to be covered:

-Editing Techniques for video and audio

-Preparing digital files for use in video editing programs

-Methods for integrating and distributing finished media though a variety of digital formats, including smart phones

-Strategies for taking current course materials and designing a logical and effective video presentation

-How to film yourself and integrate your "talking head" in to your own video

-Adding voice narration and/or audio sound effects/music to your video.
