Page history last edited by COLTT 11 years, 9 months ago

The Office of Information Technology Department of Academic Technology was pleased to have offered:

The Adobe Presentation on the CU Boulder campus: February 24, 2012 at 10 am to 12 noon.

Location:  NORLIN Library, E113, near Norlin Commons.

Interactive Publishing for the Web and MobileDevices with Adobe InDesign

This workshops allowed individuals to design professional page layouts and add a variety of multimedia and interactive elements for digital distribution using the latest version of Adobe InDesign. Participants were able to learn how to create and publish engaging web experiences, EPUB documents, print publications, and how you can leverage Adobe's Digital Publishing Services (DPS) to create engaging tablet devices.

Skills:

  • InDesign Layout Tips and Techniques
  • Publishing ePub (digital books)
  • How to add audio, video, and interaction to your InDesign documents
  • Adobe Digital Publishing Services (DPS) - this will be a short demo

Adobe Photoshop:

This session was a combination of demonstration and hands-on opportunities and covered skills specific to Photoshop CS5. The session was for people who have used Photoshop before and wanted to learn more about it, but beginners were still welcome to attend. Adobe provided a sample file for participants to use during the session. The Adobe presenter demonstrated and led participants through some of the new features in CS5 and answered questions. Participants were also provided with information about the campus resources available to learn more about how to use Adobe Photoshop.

Topics included:

  • Content Aware Fill
  • Refine Selections
  • Puppet Warp
  • HDR Imaging
  • Artistic Effects with the Mixer Brush
  • Black and White Conversion

This is a previous workshop, but was very helpful and gives people an idea of the types of workshops offered at CU-Boulder. Others similar to this will be offered again next semester.
